WHO India – Armed Forces Medical Services Portable Laboratory Kit (PLK 06)

WHO India – AFMS Portable Laboratory Kit has been designed to provide support to disease surveillance including post-disaster disease surveillance. In addition, the lab also caters for clinical diagnostic support in the immediate recovery phase following disaster. The flexible design in the form of kit A (physical structure), Kit B (equipment support ) and Kit C (consumable support) and the generator unit for electricity back up makes it move versatile for use in both disaster situations as well as for strengthening of laboratory services in peace time.

The communicable disease, clinical pathology and clinical chemistry compartments in the kit help provide a range of diagnostic applications in the field. All the components included in the kit are available off the shelf and can be assembled, packaged and mobilized in a week's time for use under field conditions.
