Dr Kiran Sharma is working at WHO Country Office India since July 2008. Her primary
task is to provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and Family
Welfare (MOHFW), Government of India, in implementing and managing the
GOI/WHO Collaborative Programmes in area of adolescent health and
development, including planning, capacity building at various levels for
monitoring and evaluation of the National adolescent health strategy. In
addition, she is also responsible for adaptation and usage of WHO guidelines,
tools and training material at the country level; liaise with the donors/development
partners and civil society to harmonize the WHO recommendations; promote
carrying out of operational research projects on priority areas of Adolescent
health.
She holds a Masters degree from National University of Ireland, Dublin, Republic
of Ireland and PhD degree in
Sociology from Punjab University, Chandigarh.
