Dr Indranath Banerjee has
worked at the WHO Country Office for India since January 2005. His
responsibilities include providing technical support to the planning,
implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the National Leprosy Eradication
Program, the national programs for the elimination of Leishmaniasis and
Lymphatic Filariasis, control of Soil Transmitted Helminthiasis and the national Yaws Eradication
Program.
Prior to joining WHO he has
worked in the areas of Tuberculosis control, Health Systems Development and
Maternal and Child Health in organizations like the German Leprosy and TB
Relief Association, the Apollo Hospital Group and the Family Planning
Association of India.
Dr Banerjee is a medical
graduate from Calcutta University,
MD in Preventive and Social
Medicine from Ahmedabad and has a Diploma in Health Management besides
specialized training in leprosy and tuberculosis.
