Terms of Reference
|
To
assist WHO in the promotion and improvement of General Nuclear Medicine :
· The collection and provision of information on the optimized use of
appropriate equipment and application of new techniques in General Nuclear
Medicine alone or in combination with other diagnostic imaging methods,
· The promotion of uniform procedures for the preparation and selection of
most adequate Radiopharmacueticals and their
quality control,
· The issuing and distribution through WHO, of recommendations, manuals or
codes of practice and the giving of advice on request to individual
institutions for nuclear medicine on the organization of nuclear medicine
facilities; radiation protection measures for staff, patients and the
public,
· Providing training and education in nuclear medicine for international
fellows (Physicians, Scientists, Radiological Technicians), on selected
topics as required and requested, and,
· Establishing and maintaining contacts and working relations with national
and international non-governmental organizations involved in radiation
medicine tasks; other WHO Collaborating Centres
for Nuclear Medicine and WHO Collaborating Institutions; other institutions
as required and requested.
