Centre was originally designated as a Research Centre in Reproductive
Health, in the year 1972.

Terms of Reference

. To collaborate with WHO for promoting and conducting biomedical,
clinical, operational and socio-behavioural
research on nationally relevant aspects of reproductive health that
includes maternal and child health; fertility regulation, infertility,
reproductive tract infections including sexually transmitted infections,
HIV/AIDS; adolescent sexual and reproductive health and menopause
. To promote evidence led care through adaptation and dissemination of
evidence based tools and guidelines for reproductive health
. To strengthen research capacities by way of staff training and
development and training of scientists from other institutions from within
and outside the country
. Interdisciplinary research and use of research results for evidence based
policy making, planning and programming
. Collaborate with national and international organizations to promote
research and research capacity strengthening in reproductive health
