This
centre was initially made a WHO CC for Research in Human Reproduction on 1
July 1972. Since then, the Institute has been successfully collaborating
with both HQ and SEARO offices.The original
designation in 1972 was terminated in 1986, when it was felt that the
Institution has matured into an institution of national importance with
scientists of high caliber who can complete globally for funds for
research. This Centre was redesignated as a WHO
CC in November 1987.

The HQ
and SEARO RHR departments have been interacting with the Centre in carrying
out the workplan successfully.

the Institute
|
All
India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi is an autonomous
institution, created by an Act of parliament in 1956. The first batch of
students was admited in 1956 for a
four-and-a-half course, followed by a year of internship.
