This
Centre was recognised as an outstanding
institution of excellence for training in India and abroad to fellows in
nutrition in the context of the primary health care.

The
Centre has developed IEC materials for a district based adolescent anaemia control project including an illustrated
brochure for school teachers. Training programme
for WHO fellows from various institute were
organized by the Centre.

Comments & Composition of
the Institute
|
The
Department of Foods and Nutrition, M.S. University of Baroda was the first
constituent department of the faculty of Home Science established in the
year 1950. In the five decades since its inception, the department has made
significant strides in many directions. The MS. University was designated
as WHO CC in 1992.

Terms of Reference
|
1. To carry out research on how to adapt
nutrition technologies and skills for wider application through primary
health care especially in the areas of anaemia
control and diet related non-communicable diseases;
2. To facilitate the adoption of these technologies in Member Countries as
requested;
3. To carry out training in this and related areas for national
implementers and researchers;
4. To provide consultant services and advice to WHO in the above areas;
5. To disseminate information dissemination information provided by the
Nutrition Research-cum-Action Network.
