promote Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI)
To develop a manual on newborn care for the nurses working at sub-district and
district hospitals.
To organize a SEA regional meeting on newborn care.
To conduct WHO study on neonatal sepsis.
To field test the newborn component of IMPACT (Integrated Management of
Pregnancy and Childbirth)
To assist the Government of India in promoting newborn care component in
national programme.
To conduct workshops on newborn nursing.
