Established
in 1984, the Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) is a
premier institution dedicated to improvement in standards of health through
better management of health care and related programmes.
It is an unique institution in the non-government
sector and values independence, credibility and quality of research and
training. It seeks to accomplish this through management research,
training, consultation and institutional networking ina
national and global perspective. The Institute has its regional offices in Bhopal, Lucknow
and Bangalore.
It also proposes to sets its international centre at Delhi for which it has already been
allotted land.

IIHMR
is a learning organization in the area of health management research with
unique organizational culture and values. The organization is flat and
non-hierarchy based. The institute values autonomy, openness, trust and
accountability of the faculty and its research staff. Not only it has a world class infrasturcture,
but also an excellent work culture and organization.

- To
serve as a resource centre in the area of (a) organization and management
of health systems based on primary health care with particular emphasis on
district health system in urban and rural districts; and (b) quality
assurance in health care.
- to organize incountry and intercountry
training courses on the organization anad
management of district health systems and quality assusrance
in health care,
- To collaborate with WHO in the monitoring and evaluation of the progress
in the implementation of district health system approach and quality
assurance,
- To provide expertise for the implementation, evaluation and research
related to intercountry collaborative projects in
the areas of organization of health systems based on primary health care
and quality assurance in health care.
