New Delhi International Ministerial Conference
on Asian and Pandemic Influenza,
New Delhi, 4-6th December 2007
Recognizing animal diseases as a threat to global
health and business, about 750 delegates including top health and veterinary
scientists, policy-makers and ministers from 111 countries and 29
international and intergovernmental organizations, including the Director
Generals of WHO, FAO, OIE and senior dignitaries of development agencies like
the World Bank, USAID, DFiD came together to deliberate
on ways to improve the global preparedness for avian and pandemic influenza
at the ‘International Ministerial Conference on Avian and Pandemic Influenza’
in New Delhi held at Vigyan Bhavan
from 4th to 6th December 2007. The conclusions of the
meeting and the road map would be finalized by the government organizers in
due course.
