LOCATION: Valapadi Block, Salem, Taml Nadu

 

Current Situation:

As per the information received from the district nodal officer of NSPCD in Salem district, 18 cases and 1 death due to measles was reported from the Valapadi block of Salem district. All the cases were in the age group of 10-15 years. Thw district RRT investigated the outbreak. Diagnosis was made clinically and no clinical samples were collected. 460 children have been immunized. Vitamin A drops, antibiotics and antipyretics were also used for the management of the cases.
