Current Situation:

An update has been received from the state nodal officer of NSPCD (National Surveillance Programme for Communicable Diseases) in Sikkim, on sudden increase in cases (1996 cases & 1 death) of febrile illness in the Jorethang block of South Sikkim district. Preliminary laboratory tests performed have not shown any positive findings as detailed below. Results of entomological investigation are awaited.
