World No Tobacco Day 2008

Tobacco Cessation Centre at Mizoram in collaboration with Department of Health &
Family Welfare commemorated WNTD 2008 by organizing various competitions to
sensitize youth on the ill-effects of tobacco use in all 8 districts of Mizoram. Various youth groups participated in TV spot,
drama, radio jingle and rock (group) music
competitions. Anti-tobacco marathon and march were also organized with representation
from various sports personalities and local celebrities. A public meeting was
followed which was addressed by the Hon’ble Health
Minister, Mizoram and awards were given to the
winners of different competitions held.
