Generation Saviour
Association organized a series of events for commemoration of World No
Tobacco Day 2008 in Mohali, Punjab. On the Spot
Painting/Poster Making Competition on WNTD theme was held at schools level. A
meeting on “Tobacco Free Youth” was organized with representations from
different departments of Chandigarh U.T.
Administration, police officials, journalists, advocates, religious leaders
and other stakeholders.
 
An exhibition of prize winning
paintings and posters was organized. A play highlighting the effect of passive
smoking on unborn child was presented. Nearly 150 children from the slums
participated in the sports meet and were given medals. A “Run for Tobacco
Free World” involving student of different schools was also organized.
