Visit of Mrs Susanne Weber-Mosdorf, ADG-SDE

Mrs Susanne Weber-Mosdorf, Assistant Director General, Sustainable Development and Healthy Environment (SDE), WHO/HQ, Geneva, visited New Delhi from 6 to 8 March 2007. 

On 6 March 2007, Mrs Weber-Mosdorf inaugurated the conference on “Diagnostic Tool in Trade and Health” organized by the WHO Regional Office for South-East Asia (SEARO). 

On 7 March 2007, she visited the WHO India Country Office to overview the SDE programme being handled at the country office.  During her field visits, she interacted with NGOs connected with water and sanitation programmes, and visited rehabilitation centres and schools. 

On 8 March 2007, Mrs Weber-Mosdorf met the Director General of Health Services, Government of India, and his team, to discuss issues concerning healthy environment and how to strengthen coordinated efforts to reduce health problems caused by environmental degradation.  She also interacted with a number of NGOs/Institutions to assess activities concerning health care waste management, chemical safety measures and occupational health issues.
